used by everyone.
We build technology for medicine, where the people who need a service most are often the ones least able to fight an interface for it. This page says exactly where this site stands, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.
01 The standard
WCAG 2.1 level AA.
5evenbiomedical.com targets WCAG 2.1 level AA, the benchmark the U.S. Department of Justice applies to the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the standard written into Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act for health programs. We hold our own site to the same bar we build client work to.
The design system was contrast-tuned rather than inherited: every text and background pair on this site was verified before launch, and the dimmest caption colour still clears 4.6:1 against the page.
02 What is in place
Measures we hold ourselves to.
- KEYBOARD
- Every control, link, form field, and game is operable without a mouse, with a visible focus ring on each stop
- STRUCTURE
- One h1 per page, landmark regions, a skip link, and labelled form fields with errors announced politely
- CONTRAST
- All text verified at 4.5:1 or better; large display type at 3:1 or better
- MOTION
- Every animation honours the reduce-motion setting in your operating system, and the scrolling service list has its own pause control
- ZOOM
- Layouts reflow to a 320px viewport and to 200% zoom with no loss of content and no horizontal scrolling
- IMAGES
- Meaningful images carry alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers instead of read aloud as noise
03 Known limitations
Where we are
not there yet.
The Arcade games. All three are keyboard-operable. STEADY HAND and VITALS are visual and time-based by nature, so a person who cannot see the canvas or who needs more time than the clock allows cannot score competitively. The games are a diversion, not a service: nothing about working with us depends on playing them.
Third-party platform code. This site runs on Squarespace, and parts of the page chrome are generated by the platform rather than written by us. We restyle and correct what we can reach and report the rest upstream.
Testing coverage. Our checks combine automated audits with manual keyboard and screen reader passes. Automated tools catch roughly a third of real barriers, so we treat visitor reports as the most reliable signal we have.

We aim to reply within one business day and to fix confirmed barriers on the site within 10 business days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you why and give you the information another way in the meantime.
